Sec. 201.028. DECEASED OR INELIGIBLE CANDIDATE RECEIVING VOTE REQUIRED FOR ELECTION

If a deceased or ineligible candidate receives the vote required for election to an office, a vacancy occurs on the date the final canvass of the election is completed.
