Sec. 12.0124. ELECTRONIC TRANSACTIONS; STATE MEDICAID PROGRAM

The department or the department's successor in function in relation to the department's operation of a part of the state Medicaid program shall implement policies that encourage the use of electronic transactions. The policies shall require payment to Medicaid service providers by electronic funds transfer, including electronic remittance and status reports. The policies shall also include the establishment of incentives to submit claims electronically and of disincentives to submit claims on paper that are reasonably based on the higher administrative costs to process claims submitted on paper.
