Sec. 1506.109. COST CONTAINMENT

  • (a) The pool shall provide for and use cost containment measures and requirements to make the coverage offered by the pool more cost-effective. To the extent the board determines it is cost-effective, the cost containment measures must include individual case management and disease management. The cost containment measures may include preadmission screening, the requirement of a second surgical opinion, and concurrent utilization review subject to Chapter 4201.

    (b) The pool may design, use, contract for, or otherwise arrange for the delivery of cost-effective health care services, including establishing or contracting with preferred provider organizations and health maintenance organizations.
