Sec. 162.302. PAYMENT OF TAX

(a) A person using a liquefied gas-propelled motor vehicle, including a motor vehicle equipped to use liquefied gas interchangeably with another motor fuel, that is required to be licensed in this state for use on the public highways of this state shall prepay the liquefied gas tax to the comptroller on an annual basis. A person holding a motor vehicle dealer's liquefied gas tax decal or an interstate trucker whose vehicle is registered in this state but may operate in other states under a multistate tax agreement shall pay the tax to a licensed dealer at the time the fuel is delivered into the fuel supply tank of a motor vehicle.
(b) An interstate trucker operating a motor vehicle licensed in a base state other than this state and any other out-of-state user shall pay the excise tax on delivery of the liquefied gas into the fuel supply tanks of a motor vehicle.
